Tribute album, Everything Is Everything, The Music of Donny Hathaway by saxophonist Kirk Whalum is nominated for "The Best Pop Instrumental" album.
We're Still friends (with singer Musiq Soulchild) is nominated for the "Best Male R&B Vocal Performance". This beautiful song, written by Donny Hathaway & Glenn Watts in 1971, was never recorded. He used to play it live during his 1971 US tour and you could listen to the original version on his album, Live (1972).
The 53rd Grammy Awards ceremony will be broadcasted on February 13th, 2011 on CBS, 8 PM ET/PT.
