You Were Meant For Me, US promo single

Your Were Meant To me, written by William Peterkin when he was 17, came out on Donny Hathaway's Best of in 1978. This single is the US promo 45 RPM incl. a short version (2:49 min) and a long one (3:45). The song reached #17 in the US R&B charts.

The Best Of Donny Hathaway (1978)


















































The original US LP (Atco SD 38-107) was published in USA in 1978. There's a never heard before song called "You Were Meant For Me" written by William Peterkin. According to the liner notes, it was recorded in June 1978. You can hear it here.

This song was also issued on the cd, "A Donny Hathaway Collection" on April 2,1990 in the US & is on the french boxset. There's also a remix version of Someday We'll All Be Free.

You Were Meant For Me (video)



This song written by William James Peterkin when he was only 17. It was given to Donny in the 70s & was issued on the album called "The Best Of Donny Hathaway", issued in 1978.
It was also issued on the cd, "A Donny Hathaway Collection" on April 2,1990 in the USA.
