Blue Lights In The Basement, Roberta Flack 6th album, was released in december 1977 in USA on Atlantic records (SD 19149) & issued on CD in 1995. It reached number #8 in the US pop charts, #5 in the R&B US charts and was certified gold in USA. The album contains Donny Hathaway's second hit with Roberta Flack, The Closer I Get To You. Recorded in august 1977 at the hit factory in NYC, NY, USA this duet was written by James Mtume and Reggie Lucas, two former musicians of Miles Davis' band who were Roberta Flack band's members at the time.
