This one hour TV documentary called "The Story Of Donny Hathaway" was broadcasted on TV one (a US channel) on november 30th, 2008.

It's narrated by singer, songwriter and radio personality Al B. Sure.

  1. I really want to see this, I'm a huge Donny Hathaway fan. I've never heard of this show, but after looking it up online, I want to see every episode, it's like Behind the Music for black artists. They did one on Phyllis Hyman - another suicide due to mental illness, so sad and unnecessary. I saw her in concert that same year and Kieth Washington opened for her.

  3. I love Donnie Hathway also! This is a great blog. I often listened to his music, it calms my soul. The mental illness that he suffered from is more wide spread today. My aunt suffers from the same illness and you definately need medication consistently.
